Redskins fan Kevin Durant 'excited' about Alex Smith

Count Kevin Durant among those pleased with the Washington Redskins' changes at quarterback.

The Golden State Warriors star and Maryland native shared his enthusiasm over the addition of Alex Smith while speaking to NBC Sports Washington on Wednesday.

"I'm excited about it," Durant said. "I can't say that without saying that Kirk Cousins has done such a great job for us since he's taken over as the starting quarterback. I don't know that dynamic there or how it's going to be, but I'm excited about any addition that we bring on. Hopefully he comes out there and plays extremely well."

Smith won't officially become a member of the Redskins until the new league year starts March 14, when he'll reportedly sign a four-year, $94-million extension with the team.
