Free-agent running back Jonathan Stewart will visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, a source told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The 10-year vet was released by the Carolina Panthers on Feb. 28.

Stewart remains a productive runner, though he's on the verge of turning 31. He started in 10 games, played in 15, and ran for 680 yards and six touchdowns despite playing with fellow rushers Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey last season.

The Seahawks could use all the help they can find in the running game. The unit finished 23rd last season and was led by quarterback Russell Wilson in all rushing categories. Eddie Lacy, Mike Davis, Thomas Rawls, Chris Carson, J.D. McKissic, and C.J. Prosise all took turns in the backfield to disappointing results. Carson opened the season as the starter but broke his leg in Week 4.
