Report: Norwell intends to sign with Jaguars for 5 years, $66.5M
The top offensive lineman of the 2018 free-agent class is reportedly off the market.
Guard Andrew Norwell intends to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars when the new league year begins at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal is expected to be for five years and $66.5 million with $30 million guaranteed.
The contract will make Norwell the highest-paid guard in the league.
Norwell graded as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 guard last season while with the Carolina Panthers.
The 26-year-old has started all 32 games over the past two seasons and was named a first-team All-Pro for the first time in his four-year career in 2017.
The Jaguars beat out the Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers, who were previously reported as finalists for his services.
