The New Orleans Saints are keeping Alex Okafor in-house, re-signing the pass-rusher to a two-year contract worth up to $10 million, a source informed NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
In his first season in the Bayou, Okafor racked up 43 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles before suffering a torn Achilles. Though he's not yet fully recovered, he's well on his way, Rapoport reports.
With Okafor's help, the Saints' defense improved from 27th to 17th and finished tied for seventh in sacks with 42.
