Old Lions, Bills playbooks being sold on eBay
Several old NFL playbooks that were uncovered at a yard sale are now being auctioned off on eBay.
Patrick Donning, a collector who purchased the playbooks, said he found them in a box at a garage sale in upstate New York, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell. The collection includes Detroit Lions defensive and secondary playbooks from 2004, a 2009 Lions defensive playbook, 2006 and 2007 Buffalo Bills defensive playbooks, and a 2008 Bills training camp playbook.
As Rovell notes, it's not very often playbooks come up for sale publicly. Among the highest-priced NFL playbooks ever sold are Mike Ditka's Super Bowl XX playbook ($14,340), Jerry Rice's playbook from his rookie season with the San Francisco 49ers ($6,573), and a 1972 playbook belonging to former Dallas Cowboys head coach Tom Landry ($6,095).
