The NFL appears to be anticipating the Carolina Panthers' ownership saga to be settled in the near future.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft told the MMQB's Albert Breer the NFL hopes to have a buyer to present in time for a team-owner's meeting in May.
Bidding for the Panthers has been heating up in recent weeks, with numbers to have reportedly eclipsed $2.5 billion, which would set a record for the sale of a U.S. pro sports team.
Soon-to-be former owner Jerry Richardson decided to sell the team after employees were discovered to have reported instances of workplace misconduct.
