New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson no longer faces any felony charges from his January arrest in Florida.
The two-year pro was arrested in South Florida for allegedly failing to yield during a traffic stop and faced nine charges, including resisting an officer, harming a public servant or family, fleeing police, reckless driving, and speeding. He also reportedly threatened to sexually assault the arresting officer's wife.
While the reckless driving felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor, the remainder of the charges have been dropped completely, the Broward County State Attorney's Office confirmed to Austin Knoblauch of NFL.com.
"The felony charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor charge due to a possible discrepancy regarding the initial estimated speed, but there is no doubt that the defendant was driving recklessly," the State Attorney's Office said in a statement.
"The other charges were declined, not filed, due to insufficient evidence."
In 2017, just his second year in the league, Anderson led the Jets in receiving yards and touchdowns with 941 yards and seven scores.
