As of right now, Odell Beckham Jr. remains property of the New York Giants.
Trade rumors continue to swirl, even after the Los Angeles Rams' acquisition of Brandin Cooks, but Beckham is a member of Big Blue for the time being and the Giants' coaching staff is treating him as such.
"You know, God, he's such an explosive player," new Giants offensive coordinator Mike Shula said Wednesday. "We've watched what everyone else has seen what he can do on the field and I'm really looking forward to being able to work with a guy like that."
Shula said he visited with Beckham three days into his new job and the meeting went well. He didn't hide the fact the Giants will build their offense around their most dynamic weapon.
"I think that he's obviously a vital part of our offense and when you have guys that can make plays and put points on the boards, you want to try to feature them as much as you can," Shula said.
As for the rumors, Shula has chosen to turn a blind eye.
"I kind of learned over the years to try to avoid the swirls and just kind of focus in on the things that I'm responsible for and at the time, I'm responsible for doing that," he said.
Beckham is entering the final year of his rookie deal and will reportedly sit out until he receives a new contract with the team.
