Report: Ravens' Harbaugh, Newsome to be questioned in Kaepernick case
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome will be questioned under oath Thursday in relation to free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick's collusion grievance against the NFL, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Kaepernick is suing the league for his perceived blackballing, itself a response to the former San Francisco 49ers pivot's protests during the national anthem in 2016.
The Ravens announced Wednesday they will sign quarterback Robert Griffin III to a one-year contract following a season out of the NFL.
Baltimore expressed interest in Kaepernick last offseason after an injury to starter Joe Flacco, but ultimately passed on signing him.
The Ravens also had an offer to Griffin turned down because he didn't believe it was a good fit at the time, so Harbaugh and Newsome are likely being questioned to discover why they preferred the 2012 Rookie of the Year over Kaepernick.
