One of the most beloved Buffalo Bills of the 21st century is trying to ensure he ends his career in Western New York.

Fred Jackson, who featured at running back for the Bills from 2006-2014, is working on a deal to sign a one-day contract so he could retire as a member of the team. Jackson led the NFL in all-purpose yards during the 2009 season,

"That’s the plan, to come back and show Buffalo that my career in Buffalo was the most important thing to me in my football career and I would love to retire as a Buffalo Bill," Jackson said to The Buffalo News.

"We're in the works of talking and trying to work something out that will benefit both myself and Buffalo in making it happen."

Jackson finished his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2015.
