The Miami Dolphins claimed quarterback Bryce Petty off waivers from the New York Jets, the team confirmed Friday.
Petty was cut by the Jets on Thursday after three seasons with the club. He appeared in 10 games for New York, throwing four touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 53 percent of his passes.
The 26-year-old Petty could duel with Brock Osweiler for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill in Miami.
