Watt feels great 7 months after major knee injury
J.J. Watt won't put a timetable on his recovery from the left tibial plateau fracture that ended his 2017 campaign after just five games, but gave a positive update on his health before taking part in the 16th annual Houston Texans Charity Golf Classic
"I feel great," Watt said, according to the team's official website. "I feel very good. I mean, I'm not going to put any percentages on it or anything."
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year has been limited to eight games over the past two seasons after not missing a regular-season contest during his first five years in the league.
Despite his almost unmatched pedigree, Watt understands he'll have to prove he's still himself on the field.
"Like I said earlier in the offseason, I could tell you I'm feeling unbelievable (or) I could tell you I'm feeling super (bad) - you won't know until I hit the field," Watt said. "Just show up to training camp, watch how I play and then you can decide for yourself how I look."
While Watt hasn't been able to make an impact on the field, he earned the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his Hurricane Harvey fundraising efforts.
