Cardinals' Wilks leaves open possibility of Rosen starting in 2018

The Arizona Cardinals aren't ruling out the possibility of Josh Rosen becoming the team's starting quarterback as a rookie.

Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks was asked on Wednesday if the 2018 first-round pick is considered a long shot to unseat Sam Bradford.

"No (he's) not," Wilks said, per the team's official site. "I talked about it from Day 1 - the best 11 are going to play."

The Cardinals committed to Bradford on a one-year, $20-million deal before selecting Rosen with the 10th pick in April's draft. But the team appears to recognize the risk in relying on Bradford, who has played a full 16-game campaign just twice in his eight-year career.

"Sam is the starter, and when he's healthy, he's great. But everybody is competing to be out there on the field," Wilks said. "Competition is a great thing. It makes us all better."
