Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews went to the emergency room Saturday after taking a line drive off his face during a charity softball game, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Packers receiver Davante Adams, who was also at the softball game, said Matthews is fine.
"He's got a little boo-boo on his nose, but he'll be all right," he told Kelly Price of NBC26. "He's a tough guy."
It appears Matthews escaped serious damage, as a source told Rapoport further tests revealed the linebacker only has a broken nose.
Matthews is going into his 10th NFL season, all with Green Bay. He finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2010 and has six Pro Bowl appearances on his resume.
