Fox News apologized Tuesday for contextualizing photos of Philadelphia Eagles players praying before games as players protesting during the national anthem.

"During our report about President Trump canceling the Philadelphia Eagles trip to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win, we showed unrelated footage of players kneeling in prayer," a statement from the network said. "To clarify, no members of the team knelt in protest during the national anthem throughout the regular season or post-season last year. We apologize for the error."

The report aired Tuesday morning. Though a number of Philadelphia players demonstrated during the anthem last season, all of them stood for the Star Spangled Banner each week.
