Report: Bears end Miller's season; injured TE will still earn $458K

A day after re-signing Zach Miller, the Chicago Bears ended his 2018 season by placing the tight end on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The team knew Miller likely couldn't play again after a devastating knee injury suffered last season on an overturned touchdown catch; however, by bringing Miller back, the team ensured he will earn the veteran minimum of $458,000 for 2018.
Miller, 33, said he hopes to resume his NFL career, but will have to wait until 2019 to try and make an improbable comeback.
