Colts DE McCain facing battery charges for January incident

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Chris McCain has been charged with battery stemming from a January incident, according to L.A. District Attorney's Office documents provided to NFL.com.
McCain is accused of spitting on a woman and grabbing her neck in Los Angeles on Jan. 7.
The 26-year-old defensive end, who signed with the Colts in May, denies any wrongdoing.

McCain notched five sacks in limited action with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 13.
The Colts later issued a statement in response to McCain's charges.
