Attorney: Victim hasn't accused, just 'suspects' McCoy was involved in attack
The attorney for LeSean McCoy's ex-girlfriend said Friday that she has never directly accused the Buffalo Bills running back of orchestrating the July 10 assault against her, but still "suspects" he had something to do with it.
Attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham told Mike Rodak of ESPN on Friday that there has been "no backtracking" in Delicia Cordon's story, but she won't directly blame McCoy without more evidence.
An incident log released by police Thursday showed that Cordon said on a 911 call that she felt McCoy "set (her) up" for the attack, which included a burglary and vicious assault.
The ordeal took place overnight at a Georgia residence McCoy owned but was legally forced to share with Cordon. McCoy was said to be in the process of evicting her. He was reportedly in Florida when the incident occurred, but the assailant's lack of forcible entry and request of specific jewelry led Cordon and her legal team to believe the perpetrator was linked to McCoy.
Graham also said Friday that the jewelry in question was given to Cordon as a gift in 2016. McCoy told police in 2017 that the accessory had been loaned by a jeweler.
