Fans are prepared to pay a lot of money to become the Los Angeles Chargers' next Boltman.
Dan Jauregui, the man behind the team's unofficial mascot, announced Thursday he would be retiring after more than two decades in the role. He is now in the midst of auctioning off the costume and "full intellectual property rights to the Boltman character" on eBay.
Bidding started at $5,000, but has since jumped to a whopping $67,000. The auction ends July 22, with half of the proceeds from the final sale going to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego.
In a recent Facebook poll, 56 percent voted in favor of selling the costume while 44 percent said Jauregui should retire it.
