Cowboys rep: Seahawks not giving away Earl Thomas
The Seattle Seahawks apparently aren't overly keen to part with disgruntled All-Pro safety Earl Thomas.
"It's a lot of media hype," a Dallas Cowboys official told Calvin Watkins of The Athletic. "Seattle not giving him away and we're not overpaying."
Rumors of Thomas wanting out of Seattle have swirled since last season, with the Cowboys reportedly being the most likely, and his preferred, destination.
A six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, Thomas is entering the 2018 campaign in the final year of his contract, which holds a cap hit of $10.4 million. His $10-million annual average salary ranks sixth among safeties, though teammate Kam Chancellor - who ranks second on the list - seemingly announced his retirement earlier this month.
Thomas has said he plans to hold out for a new deal.
