Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. has been suspended for the first game of the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, the team announced Friday.
The ban stems from Fowler's July 2017 arrest for battery. He was sentenced to probation and fines after pleading no contest to three misdemeanor charges in March.
Fowler missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury, but bounced back in 2017, racking up eight sacks as part of the Jaguars' league-best pass-rush.
