Report: Julio Jones will receive $2.9M raise under revised contract
Julio Jones will earn a nice bump in pay under his revised contract.
The Atlanta Falcons' star pass-catcher will receive an additional $2.9 million in 2018 a source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Under the new deal, Jones will receive a $4.4 million signing bonus while his base salary will drop, adding up to total compensation this season of $13.4 million instead of $10.5 million.
Atlanta's assurance to hold good-faith negotiations on a new contract in 2019 was also a catalyst to end Jones' holdout, Mortensen added.
The Falcons announced Jones' revised deal Thursday, and the receiver will now report to training camp.
The 29-year-old has amassed over 1,400 yards in each of the past four seasons. He scored three touchdowns for the 10-win Falcons in 2017 and finished second in the league with 1,444 receiving yards.
