Cowboys respond to Bryant's criticism
It didn't take long to get the Dallas Cowboys' response to Dez Bryant's tweetstorm on Friday night.
The saga began when team executive vice president Stephen Jones spoke on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Friday and commented that Bryant was in quarterback Dak Prescott's ear last season. That quote - originally posted without the part about Jason Witten - put the former Cowboys receiver on the defensive, and he ripped the team's playcalling and leadership, as well as some of his former teammates.
Jones said his comment wasn't intended to be negative.
Linebacker Sean Lee, whom Bryant called a "snake," admitted to butting heads with his former teammate.
Bryant also said the team's offensive playcalling was predictable, with "everybody lined up in the same spot for 17 weeks." Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan declined comment.
