The Oakland Raiders and star pass-rusher Khalil Mack have made no progress in contract talks, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Mack, a training camp holdout, is looking for a long-term extension that will, presumably, make him one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL. The former Defensive Player of the Year is in the final year of his rookie contract.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden publicly expressed optimism before training camp that the two sides would hammer out a deal. However, there's no evidence that the two sides are even communicating at this point, according to Rapoport.

Mack piled up 78 tackles and 10.5 sacks for Oakland last year, making it the third straight season the former No. 5 overall pick posted a double-digit sack total.
