Suh backing Donald amid holdout: 'He deserves more than what I got'

It doesn't appear three-time All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will be jealous when his new teammate, Aaron Donald, finally breaks the bank - presumably at the Los Angeles Rams' expense.

"He deserves more than what I got," Suh told Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY. "It's only right that he continues to play at a high level and prove that."

Donald, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Pro tackle himself, is mired in a contract holdout for the second straight year. The 27-year-old is scheduled to earn less than $7 million in 2018, the final season of his rookie deal.

Suh, meanwhile, is no stranger to the business side of things. In 2015, he inked a six-year deal with the Miami Dolphins worth $114 million, including $60 million guaranteed, making it the richest deal for a defensive player in NFL history. He was surpassed the next year by Denver Broncos pass-rusher Von Miller, who signed a six-year, $114.5-million contract with $70 million guaranteed.

Donald and the Rams have been tangled in extension talks throughout the offseason, but it doesn't seem they've made a ton of progress. Donald and Suh, who joined Los Angeles on a one-year deal in March following his release from Miami, could form one of the most prolific defensive tackle tandems in league history once they finally get on the field together.
