Colts OL Mewhort announces retirement after 4 seasons
Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Jack Mewhort has announced his retirement from the NFL after just four seasons.

The 26-year-old played just 15 games over the last 2 seasons while battling knee injuries.
Indianapolis selected the Ohio State alum in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2014 draft. The versatile lineman made starts at guard and tackle during his four seasons with the team.
"He fought through injuries and played through pain," general manager Chris Ballard said in a statement. "Jack is a selfless player who always carried a team-first mentality. He is revered among his coaches, teammates, and staff and his leadership will be missed in the locker room. We're appreciative of Jack's dedication to the Colts and we wish him the best moving forward."
Mewhort's retirement leaves veteran Matt Slauson and rookie Braden Smith to battle for the Colts' starting right guard spot, while Austin Howard and Denzelle Good will compete at right tackle.
