Eagles extend Pederson, Roseman through 2022 season
The Philadelphia Eagles have rewarded head coach Doug Pederson and executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman for their Super Bowl victory by extending both their contracts through the 2022 season, the team announced Sunday.
"We are thrilled to solidify continuity in our organization’s leadership with the extensions of Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman, whose collaborative partnership helped deliver our city its first Super Bowl Championship," said chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie.
"Doug and Howie are committed to the success of our franchise by ensuring that we remain competitive, both in the short and long term. That unified vision for the future of our team is what gives us the best chance to win moving forward."
In his second season in charge of the Eagles, Pederson led his team to a 13-3 record - tied for a franchise record - despite losing key players such as Carson Wentz, Jason Peters, and Darren Sproles.
The Eagles were able to survive in large part due to the depth of talent on the roster that was masterminded by Roseman, who regained his role as the front-office leader following the departure of Chip Kelly.
