People are still confused about how to pronounce Tyrod Taylor's name
There's a new controversy in the NFL and it centers around the pronunciation of Tyrod Taylor's first name.
Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joel Bitonio clarified earlier this week that the quarterback's name is pronounced TUH-rod, not TY-rod, but it hasn't yet been corrected because Taylor is too nice to tell people they're wrong. The Browns also released a statement Friday confirming the TUH-rod pronunciation.

But the Browns' senior vice president of communications, Peter John-Baptiste, then stated Taylor is fine with either.
Stop the madness! Ty is fine if you call him either. I asked him yesterday how he introduced himself on NBC Sunday Night Football and he said Ty-rod. So there you have it.

Adding to the confusion, Mina Kimes of ESPN The Magazine tweeted that Taylor's agent and father both call him TY-rod.
Tyrod’s agent told me it was TY-Rod. His pops told me it was TY-Rod. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE https://t.co/RFHCPxt4Yh

Taylor's mother, however, pronounces it TUH-rod.
"TY-rod is definitely what I've heard most of my life, but I mean, my mom calls me TUH-rod, but she also doesn't call me by my first name," Taylor told reporters during a press conference Tuesday. "She calls me by my middle name, Di'allo."
Taylor added that only his mom refers to him as Di'allo, "so y'all can't start calling me that."
