Cleveland Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor seemingly avoided a major injury after appearing to injure his left wrist on an awkward fall after scrambling on a fourth down play Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
He went to the locker room and Baker Mayfield replaced him on the field, but Taylor quickly returned to the sidelines and reentered the game.
The Browns said Taylor was questionable to return with a "left hand" injury.
Despite drafting Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick, the Browns have insisted Taylor is their unquestioned starter heading into the regular season.
Mayfield will now get his chance with the first team, which wasn't expected to happen for the rest of the preseason.
