Seahawks sign Tyler Lockett to reported 3-year, $31.8M extension
The Seattle Seahawks and wide receiver Tyler Lockett have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.
Lockett's new contract is a three-year deal worth a base salary of $31.8 million, with a maximum value of $37.8 million, and $20 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The Seahawks drafted the speedy receiver in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Kansas State. The 26-year-old accumulated 45 receptions for 555 yards and two touchdowns a year ago.
Lockett is also a valuable player on special teams, utilized as a dynamic punt and kick returner. He has three career return touchdowns.
The young wideout has the tools to succeed but has yet to put them together consistently over the span of one full season. Seattle is banking on this happening in 2018.
