New York Giants tight end Evan Engram has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol, head coach Pat Shurmur announced Wednesday.

Engram was ruled out of the Giants' third preseason game due to the head injury. He'll be eligible to play in the team's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Now 24 years old, he led the Giants with 64 receptions and six touchdowns as a rookie last season.
