The Los Angeles Chargers may be without a key member of their defense when they kick off their season Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Star defensive end Joey Bosa has been nursing a foot injury and was a limited participant at practice Wednesday. Head coach Anthony Lynn didn't sound optimistic about his availability for Week 1 on Thursday.
"He'll be ready when he's ready. There's a possibility he won't be with us (against the Chiefs)," Lynn said, according to The Athletic's Lindsay Jones.
The Chargers' defensive line is already thin with defensive tackle Corey Liuget serving a four-game suspension.
Bosa, the 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year, was named to his first Pro Bowl last year after posting 12.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
