Freeman, Neal exit opener vs. Eagles with knee injuries

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman and safety Keanu Neal both suffered knee injuries in Thursday's opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Freeman exited in the fourth quarter and was seen walking with a slight limp on the sidelines as Tevin Coleman finished the game as the feature back. The 26-year-old finished with 36 yards on six carries, adding three receptions for 14 yards.

Neal left the game in the second half after previously going down with an apparent ailment earlier in the contest. Following the game, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters that Neal's injury "doesn't appear to be anything serious." The bruising safety finished the night with two tackles.

It was a tough evening for the Falcons, who lost 18-12 to the Eagles, with the game coming down to the final play.
