With pass-rusher Khalil Mack in the fold, the Chicago Bears continued to solidify their defensive front by agreeing to a four-year contract extension with defensive tackle Eddie Goldman on Friday.

"This is a key extension for the future of the Bears and an anchor for our defense," general manager Ryan Pace said.

The deal runs through the 2022 season and is worth more than $42 million with $25 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That would make Goldman one of the highest-paid nose tackles in the league.

The 24-year-old was chosen with the 39th overall pick of the 2015 draft. He started all 15 games he played in last season, recording one-and-a-half sacks.
