Report: Patriots reach compromise over Alex Guerrero to end apparent rift

Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots have ended any rift over the standing of Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady's personal trainer, within the organization by coming to a compromise that will allow him "solid" access to the team, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

That access will include traveling with the Patriots on occasion. Brady and Rob Gronkowski will also be able to use Guerrero whenever they see fit. The goal, added Rapoport, is for Guerrero to be a non-story this campaign.

The veteran quarterback has been unwilling to speak about Guerrero this offseason, ending two separate interviews abruptly when pressed on the issues surrounding his trainer.

Bill Belichick reportedly banned Guerrero from team facilities last season, leading to tension between the head coach and his star quarterback.
