Dolphins' Wake on 7-hour game: 'We ran out of snacks in the locker room'

Sunday's game between the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins set the record for the longest game in NFL history at seven hours and eight minutes.

The game was stopped twice, on either side of halftime, for a total of nearly four hours due to lightning. Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake said the lengthy interludes caused some issues in the team's locker room.

"We ran out of snacks in the locker room," Wake said after the game, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN. "Lots of peanut butter and jelly (sandwiches) and turkey sandwiches gone. Lots of carbs, so we will do some conditioning tomorrow."

The Dolphins were at least able to reward the hometown fans - 7,000 to 10,000 of whom stayed until the end, according to Wolfe - with their 27-20 victory.

After others left, a scoreboard message invited many fans down to the lower bowl of the stadium.
