Titans place Walker on IR with ankle injury
The Tennessee Titans announced Monday that the team has placed tight end Delanie Walker on injured reserve.
Walker suffered a broken ankle and some ligament damage in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Walker was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter. He had caught four passes for 52 yards at the time.
The sixth-round pick of the 2006 NFL Draft was named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl last season. He led the Titans with 74 receptions for 807 yards.
In a corresponding move, Tennessee signed tight end MyCole Pruitt off the Houston Texans' practice squad and put him on their active roster. Pruitt has 12 career receptions for 102 yards over 21 career games split between three teams.
Jonnu Smith and Luke Stocker are the other tight ends on the Titans' official depth chart.
