McCarthy: No decision yet on Rodgers' Week 2 status
Not so fast, Aaron Rodgers.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback was deemed questionable to return to Sunday night's game against the Chicago Bears with a knee injury, but he rejoined the contest in the second half and led a late comeback. After the game, he said he'd play again next Sunday versus the Minnesota Vikings.
However, head coach Mike McCarthy said on Monday that "no decision has been made" about Rodgers' playing status for Week 2, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"We're still collecting all the information on his specific situation. I know Aaron wants to play and is always driven to play but that's all I have right now," McCarthy added, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
Rodgers admitted postgame that the injury he sustained Sunday night was similar to the one that required a cleanup procedure on his left knee in 2015. He also told reporters he figured he could return to the divisional battle, spurred on by adrenaline, as he was told he could not do further damage to the knee.
Rodgers missed nine games last season with a broken collarbone.
