Browns' Gordon out vs. Saints with hamstring injury
Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
Gordon was not listed on the team's injury report all week. He played in the season opener and recorded just one catch, but it was a 17-yard touchdown reception that sent the contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers to overtime.
Gordon was away for the majority of training camp. His excused absence was made in an effort to focus on his mental health.
The Browns mentioned that Gordon picked up a minor hamstring injury upon his return in mid-August.
Cleveland will also be without linebacker Christian Kirksey, who is dealing with shoulder and ankle ailments, and tight end Seth DeValve due to a hamstring issue of his own.
The Browns will meet the New York Jets on Thursday. The upcoming short week played a role in head coach Hue Jackson's decisions on player statuses for Week 2.
