Report: Mariota dealing with pinched nerve in elbow
Marcus Mariota's status for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans remains up in the air as he deals with a pinched nerve in his elbow, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Mariota sustained the injury in the season opener and has yet to regain complete feeling in his fingers, Rapoport adds. The ailment has left the Tennessee Titans quarterback unable to grip a football normally, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Mariota has been declared active for Sunday's game. Head coach Mike Vrabel said earlier in the week that he can envision a scenario in which both Mariota and backup Blaine Gabbert see time at quarterback on Sunday.
The Titans will be without both of their starting tackles, Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin, on Sunday and backup right tackle Dennis Kelly will also miss the game due to a virus, Schefter reports.
