Report: Patriots rookie Michel expected to make pro debut; Burkhead active
New England Patriots running backs Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead are both expected to play Sunday versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Michel, a first-round pick in this year's draft, will be making his pro debut after he had his knee drained in the offseason and missed the entire preseason.
Burkhead sustained a concussion in the season opener but is expected to suit up as long as he receives clearance following pregame warmups.
It's anticipated Burkhead, Michel, and receiving back James White will each play significant roles on Sunday.
Burkhead led the way with 18 carries for 64 yards in a Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. White received nine total touches and recorded a touchdown reception. Jeremy Hill was lost for the year with a torn ACL.
