It appears as though Earl Thomas may have played his final game with the Seattle Seahawks last week, as the team isn't expected to use the franchise tag on the star safety this offseason, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The tag for safeties is expected to be valued around $11.85 million for the 2019 campaign, Schefter adds. The Seahawks won't need to make the decision until after the 2018 season.
Thomas was in the final year of his contract with the Seahawks, carrying a cap hit of $10.4 million. The three-time All-Pro suffered a broken leg against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4 and was placed on injured reserve earlier this week.
The 29-year-old recorded three interceptions in as many games top open the season.
