Report: Titans plan to start Gabbert vs. Jaguars
Blaine Gabbert is expected to get his second consecutive start under center for the Tennessee Titans when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gabbert led the Titans to victory in a Week 2 test against the Houston Texans with Marcus Mariota still trying to regain feeling in his hand following a Week 1 injury. Mariota reportedly has a pinched nerve in his elbow that has made it difficult for him to properly grip a football.
Gabbert was steady in his first start in a Titans uniform last week. He completed 13 of 20 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Sunday's game will come against the team that selected him 10th overall in the 2011 draft. After three seasons in Jacksonville, Gabbert spent three years with the San Francisco 49ers and last year with the Arizona Cardinals.
Gabbert signed with the Titans this offseason on a two-year, $4-million contract.
