The New York Giants are benching former first-round pick Ereck Flowers for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans after the right tackle struggled mightily during the first two games of the season, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Chad Wheeler is set to start in his place.
The 24-year-old Flowers has been a disappointment since the Giants drafted him with the No. 9 overall pick in 2015.
Despite possessing the talents of Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley, the Giants have struggled to score this season, putting up 28 points in two games.
