Report: Seahawks may fine Thomas; Chiefs potential trade partner
Earl Thomas and the Seattle Seahawks' issues appear far from over.
The Seahawks are considering a "significant fine" for the All-Pro safety for his two non-injury related absences from practice this week, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
In the middle of practice Friday, Thomas apparently sat down on the sideline and chose not to participate in the rest of team drills, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. He's also shown up late to multiple team walk-throughs during the week.
Thomas did take part in a walk-through Saturday and is reportedly expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, who apparently hope to restart trade talks after the contest.
A deal with the Cowboys is considered a "super long shot," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, but the Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as a candidate to acquire Thomas before the Oct. 30 trade deadline.
Asked if Thomas' absence was injury-related, head coach Pete Carroll said Friday, "No, he's got some other stuff we're working on," according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.
