Bowers will be charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, after a handgun was discovered in his carry-on Monday morning at New York's LaGuardia Airport, USA Today reports.
Bowers' impending charges are the same ones imposed upon Plaxico Burress following his 2008 incident in a Manhattan nightclub. League spokesman Greg Aiello said that the matter "will be reviewed under our league policies." However, a suspension from the commissioner is the least of Bowers' worries, as his offense brings with it a minimum sentence of three-and-a-half years in prison. The Buccaneers may be without a member of their defensive line rotation for the 2013 season.
