New York Giants pass-rusher Olivier Vernon is expected to make his 2018 season debut on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 28-year old was sidelined in late August with a high-ankle sprain, missing the first five games of the season. He was a limited participant in practice this week before being left off the team's final injury report on Wednesday.
The Giants signed Vernon to a five-year contract worth $85 million in 2016. In two seasons with the team, he's recorded 100 tackles, 15 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He missed four games in 2017 due to an ankle injury.
Vernon's return could help a Giants pass-rush that's recorded a league-low six sacks this season.
