Thursday Night Football betting report: Eagles vs. Giants
Two struggling NFC East teams meet for a divisional matchup on Thursday night when the New York Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles. TheScore got a glimpse at which team bettors are siding with, courtesy of Will Bernanke, the lead analyst at CG Analytics in Las Vegas.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants
Open: PHI -2.5 (-115) / 44.5
Current: PHI -2 / 44.5
The defending Super Bowl champions have looked anything but the part to open the season. The Eagles are 2-3 after dropping their last two games, and they've failed to cover the spread in four straight. Thursday will be the third time Philly is listed as a road favorite this season, and the Eagles haven't won in that situation yet in 2018, dropping their previous two outright.
As tough as it's been for the Eagles, the same can be said for the Giants. New York comes into Thursday off a brutal loss that ended with Carolina's Graham Gano drilling a 63-yard field goal as time expired, and the Giants fell to 1-4.
For New York, Thursday's game will be the team's sixth straight as an underdog. As of Thursday afternoon, the Giants were garnering a slight majority of bets.
"62 percent of all dollars are on the Giants and 60 percent of all moneyline dollars are on the Giants as well," Bernanke said.
"As of now, Philly covering all numbers is an ideal result."
