Report: Gruden tore Norman's headphones off at halftime in loss to Saints
Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden reportedly tore off cornerback Josh Norman's headphones in the locker room during the team's loss to the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
When Gruden spoke to the team at halftime, he noticed Norman had his back turned to the coach and his headphones on, prompting to Gruden to yank them off, as per The Kevin Sheehan Show via Dan Steinberg of The Washington Post.
The incident resulted in Norman walking away. Gruden reportedly called after him, saying "If you keep walking, you're not going to start the second half."
Norman was benched for the start of the second half.
Following the game, the cornerback engaged in a Twitter feud with Michael Thomas and responded to criticism of him going "Hollywood."
Washington signed Norman in 2016 to a five-year $75-million contract. He has recorded three interceptions since joining the team. In his four starts this season he has 18 combined tackles and one fumble recovery.
