The New York Giants traded defensive tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison to the Detroit Lions for a fifth-round draft pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Harrison is the second high-profile player traded from the Giants in as many days, as New York shipped cornerback Eli Apple to the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.

Harrison went to the Giants as a marquee free agent ahead of the 2016 season, signing a five-year contract worth $46.25 million. He was a first-team All-Pro selection at the end of 2016.

The 29-year-old, who figures to beef up a Detroit defense that has struggled against the run, has posted 31 tackles and one forced fumble over seven appearances this season.

Harrison spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets, breaking into the league as an undrafted free agent.
